As if and adverb clauses of time with before, when, after, as soon as
As if, before, when, after, and as soon as are subordinating conjunctions. They join two sentences to become one sentence. Different conjunctions show different relations of the sentences combined.
Subordinating conjunctions can be written in two ways:
S1 + subordinating conjunction + S2.
OR Subordinating conjunction + S2 + ,+ S1.
